Founded by doctors, Thermal Custom Packaging (TCP) got its start in the medical field and is now providing solutions for the pharmaceutical, frozen food, and law enforcement industries. Dr. Clifford Glade, a practicing Veterinarian founded the company in 2003 when he recognized a serious problem in cold chain transportation that he could fix. After developing a portable blood bank, using Phase Change Materials (PCMs), the cold chain transport options were endless. The blood bank maintained the precise temperatures required to store and transport blood without the need for ice packs or dry ice. This portable unit allowed blood to remain with the patient in the critical hours following surgery, which is especially important with younger, smaller patients.

Dr. Roberto Di Loreto, a practicing M.D. partnered with Cliff in 2020 to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Di Loreto’s extensive medical background and virology experience enabled TCP to use its PCM technology in combination with thermal packaging totes to transport lifesaving COVID-19 vaccines. Now Di Loreto is involved in many cold-chain consulting services as part of the many other industries the company serves.
